From first upload to useful feedback

A simple checklist for preparing a session, comparing laps, and asking your AI coach better questions.

Prepare a useful recording

  • Choose one session with several complete laps, ideally with consistent track and car conditions.
  • Use the export guide for your logger and preserve the original file as a backup.
  • Include all recorded channels. Keep the timestamps, units, lap markers, and metadata intact.
  • Give your local copy a recognisable name, such as track_date_session, while keeping the original extension.

Bring your session into Laptura

  1. Open Laptura

Sign in to your Laptura account and open the session upload area. If you’re waiting for beta access, you can still prepare and keep your export for later.

  2. Upload the telemetry file

Choose the file you prepared. Keep the original extension and upload the data file itself, rather than a ZIP archive, video, or screenshot.

  3. Check the session

When processing finishes, check the track, lap count, and available channels. Start with a complete lap and compare it with another clean lap from the same session.

Compare two clean laps

Use a representative lap and a faster clean lap from the same session. Look at where the time difference starts changing, then inspect speed, braking, and throttle around that part of the track. A single fast apex does not necessarily produce a faster sector.

  • Check that both laps use the same track layout and comparable conditions.
  • Exclude pit laps, spins, traffic, and obvious GPS dropouts from your first comparison.
  • Read a corner from braking through the following straight so you can see the effect on exit speed.

Ask a specific question

Open a corner in Turn Analysis and give the coach a focused question about the selected laps. Use the answer to choose one thing to review or practise next.

  • “Where does my time loss begin in this corner?”
  • “How does my brake release differ between these two laps?”
  • “Is the slower exit costing more time than I gained on entry?”
