Get a session upload back on track

Start with the file

• Select the telemetry file itself: an AiM CSV or XRK, VBOX VBO, MoTeC LD, or iRacing IBT for the workflows covered here.
• Extract an archive before choosing a file. Do not upload a video, screenshot, device configuration, or analysis workspace in place of the recording.
• Make sure the download or export has finished and that the file is not empty.
• Open the recording in the vendor software. If it cannot read the file, retrieve or export the original session again.
• Keep file extensions unchanged. Renaming a file does not convert its format.

If a CSV will not import

Create a fresh telemetry export from the logger software. Spreadsheet applications can change separators, number formats, timestamps, and header rows when saving a CSV.

• Export the sampled channel data, not a lap-time summary or a printed report.
• Include timing data and the full session range.
• Retain the original channel names and unit rows.
• Keep an untouched original so you can compare it with any edited copy.

If channels are missing

Check the original session in the vendor software. If a channel is absent there, the logger may not have recorded it. GPS-only devices usually cannot supply pedal inputs or ECU data without extra connections.

If laps or the track map look wrong

• Check that the recording covers complete laps and includes timing or lap-marker data.
• Inspect GPS position for gaps or dropouts. A file without position data cannot provide a recorded GPS line.
• Verify the track layout and compare the lap count with the vendor software.
• Try an intact full-session export if the file was cropped to only part of a lap.

Before trying again

Keep the original recording, note the exact error message, and record the logger model and software version. Re-export once using the matching guide. If your file format is not covered here, keep that original instead of changing its extension.
