Record and find your iRacing telemetry
Enable telemetry logging, drive your session, and bring the original IBT file into Laptura.

Before you start
You’ll need iRacing on your PC and a session to drive. Telemetry must be recorded while driving; saving a replay does not create an IBT telemetry recording.
Record a session
Enable telemetry logging
In the simulator, press Alt + L to toggle telemetry logging. Check the telemetry indicator so you know logging is armed before you drive.
Alt + LDrive your laps
Complete a few laps with logging active. iRacing starts a new telemetry file when you enter the car, so a session with multiple runs can produce several files.
Finish and locate the file
Exit the car and finish logging before copying the recording. Open the telemetry folder under your Windows Documents location and find the .ibt for the correct car, track, and time.
Documents\iRacing\telemetryKeep the original IBT
Copy the matching .ibt to your session folder. Use this native recording for Laptura; no MoTeC conversion is needed for the IBT workflow.
Bring your session into Laptura
Open Laptura
Sign in to your Laptura account and open the session upload area. If you’re waiting for beta access, you can still prepare and keep your export for later.
Upload the telemetry file
Choose the file you prepared. Keep the original extension and upload the data file itself, rather than a ZIP archive, video, or screenshot.
Check the session
When processing finishes, check the track, lap count, and available channels. Start with a complete lap and compare it with another clean lap from the same session.
Common fixes
- No telemetry folder yet? Record a driving run first; iRacing may not create the folder until there is data to save.
- If Documents is redirected to OneDrive or another location, check your actual Windows Documents folder.
- A .rpy file is a replay. Use the .ibt from the telemetry folder.
- A run without complete laps offers less useful comparison data. Start logging before leaving the pits and record several uninterrupted laps.
